6-Hour Beginner Lap Quilt Class

Create Your Own Beautiful Lap Quilt — Beginner Friendly!

Join us for a fun and hands-on 6-hour quilting class where you’ll learn the essential skills needed to create your very own lap quilt from start to finish. This class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to build confidence with quilting techniques.

🧵 First 4 Hours — Fabric, Cutting & Piecing

We’ll begin by choosing fabrics and learning how colors and patterns work together to create a beautiful quilt.

Machines, thread and all tools will be provide to use during the class.  

You’ll learn how to:

• Choose coordinating fabrics for your lap quilt
• Properly measure and cut fabric
• Safely and accurately use a quilting ruler and rotary cutter
• Cut 6½-inch fabric squares
• Arrange your squares into a pleasing pattern
• Learn basic sewing techniques for piecing
• Sew your squares together to create the quilt top

• 🪡 Last 2 Hours — Finishing Your Quilt

  Once your quilt top is complete, we’ll move on to the finishing techniques that bring your quilt to life!

  You’ll learn how to:

  • Add the batting and backing
  • Prepare your quilt sandwich
  • Learn the basics of free-motion quilting
  • Practice quilting techniques to add texture and personality
  • Make and attach binding
  • Finish your quilt with a clean, professional-looking edge
